Kahala Condo Hunting Secrets

Finding a Kahala condo can be challenging. Kahala is primarily a single family neighborhood so condo inventory is limited. And while there are many high-rise condo projects in other areas of town (Kaka’ako and Nu’uanu), Kahala condos are unique in that they offer the quiet solitude and richness of the prestigious Kahala experience. To find a great deal in Kahala may require patience and timing, so here’s a few secrets to finding your dream Kahala condo:

Start at the Regency at Kahala Condo Project

The most well-known Kahala condo project is The Regency at Kahala. It’s a classic building that’s the standard of Kahala condo living. The Regency offers spacious floor plans, large lanais and doorman service. Units are available with ocean and/or mountain views. Some showcase Diamond Head and others Koko Head. One-, two- and three-bedroom units are available. The Regency is located close to Kahala Mall. It’s also close to the popular restaurant districts of Kaimuki and Waikiki Beach. To get a good grasp on whether Kahala condo living is for you, arrange for a tour to experience whether the location and its amenities are right for you.

Give It Time, Be Relentless

The prestige of Kahala makes it highly sought after from buyers from around the globe. And the inventory is limited. But the satisfaction of securing your place in paradise is worth the effort. The secret is to be patient and find an agent who specializes in Kahala. When selecting an agent, be sure to ask about their closing history in the district. You might also consider asking for references of past clients who they have represented in past condo purchases.

Consider Diamond Head & Waialae

Kahala condos are usually in short supply, long term rentals can be scarce at Kahala Beach Apartments and The Regency at Kahala. But there are alternatives that offer similar lifestyles and amenities. For example, the Gold Coast of Diamond Head is also a highly prestigious neighborhood just a few minutes away from Kahala that also offers condos. On the Gold Coast, almost all oceanfront condominiums feature beach access and most have ocean views. At Diamond Head, you’re also close to world famous Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park, the Diamond Head Crater and multitudes of restaurants in Kaimuki and Kahala.
You also might consider two other condominium properties located in the Waialae neighborhood, just 100 feet away from Kahala. Waialae condo projects include Kahala Towers and three town-home projects called Waialae Gardens, Tropicana Manor and Tropic Gardens. All of the Waialae condo properties are pet friendly too, which is a great bonus. Like Diamond Head and Kahala, you’re close to world famous Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park, the Diamond head Crater and multitudes of restaurants in Kaimuki and Kahala.
